My sister is searching for a white wooden bench with storage to set at the foot of her bed. For years she’s used a bench of mine that I didn’t have room for. My bench does not have storage. It is a simple bench with an upholstered top and graceful curved legs that are stained a cherry wood tone. My mom covered the bench in a blue and white fabric that at one time matched my bedroom decor.
When I moved I didn’t have room for the bench but didn’t want to get rid of it so my sister took it. Over the years she got used to having a bench at the foot of their bed. Today, her husband uses the bench almost daily when he puts his shoes on and off. Last summer he hurt his back while playing golf and he’s commented that he prefers the bench because it’s lower than the bed, more stable and not as squishy as the mattress. He finds it is a less painful task to get his shoes on and off, especially when he’s tired or over did it during the day.
My sister wants to brighten up their bedroom. Her style is somewhat traditional and she’s looking for a new white wood bench with storage or a shelf so her husband can keep his shoes and slippers under the bench yet off the floor. Her husband will sometimes leave his shoes on top of the upholstered bench. If she comes along and tidies up and puts them in the closet later he’ll be calling her to go find his shoes when he cannot find them where he thought he left them!
Having storage space or a shelf under the bench will solve two problems. My sister will be happy because dirty shoes will no longer be left on top of the upholstered fabric. Her husband will be happy because his shoes and slippers will always be easily within reach.
She’s asked me to start looking for some styles I think would look nice and would fit her space. I’ve posted five styles that I think would look great in her bedroom.
